These are my thoughts on Perfect Harmony, and I just want everyone to keep this in mind. I just picked up Game Maker a year ago, and this is just what I am capable of on my first go. I am listening to the feedback and criticism, and will keep it all in mind for the sequels.
Now, to answer a few frequently asked questions and to tell you my thoughts on the series.
This is a beta version of the game and perhaps the only demo I will release, unless I am unable to finish the entire game by 12-12-12.
There will not be an online mode. (I’m sorry, maybe in the far far future! Keep your hopes up!)
Each one of the games will be massive in size, roughly four times the size of a normal Mega Man game, and it shows in the length of the stages!
There will be an easy, normal, hard, and then extreme and nightmare modes. Extreme and Nightmare readjusts all of the settings of the enemies on screen to insane levels, and there are even more of them as well.
Perfect Harmony I is very difficult even on the normal setting. Easy has the least amount of enemies, with help throughout the one hit kill trapped areas, but the downside is you get the least amount of screws. I recommend playing normal, because it is an average amount of enemies with an average amount of screws. If you play hard mode, there are even more enemies and even more screw drops. Some mid-bosses health vary between difficulty modes, but for the most part the amount of maximum players determine the health of mid-bosses and final bosses.
Each game will get progressively more difficult, with more and more powerful characters and abilities at your disposal as the series progresses. The level of power steadily increases as each game makes the former seem weak in comparison. Also, characters like Rock, Roll, and Blues will start out with more powers from the start, and more characters will be available from the beginning in each of the sequels.
There will be a death match mode.
There will be a newer respawn system in place for cooperative mode.
The Perfect Harmony series is not the same as the classic Mega Man series. Many have mentioned how it has a different feel, as it should being that it is a spin off series that combines story and game play elements from the Classic, X and Zero series. It may share the same appearance as the classic, but it is actually the final four closing chapters of the classic series itself, so that the main series can go on forever. It is named Perfect Harmony, the story of how peace and harmony was finally restored for 50 years before X was unearthed.
Perfect Harmony I will be the most cheerful and reminiscent of the classic series. From II and on, it becomes more intense with a dramatic storyline involving the final moments of the main of the cast.
Perfect Harmony II will be more methodical, with less madness, answering most peoples complaints about the first game. There will also be classier characters such as Chess Man, Raven Man and Rose Woman.
Perfect Harmony II, III and IV will have more original media.
Perfect Harmony I and II are either very bright blue, or very dark in color, with tiny bits of brightness here and there. Not at all as colorful as the classic series, but has its own colder, darker appearance to it.
Perfect Harmony III and IV will be very bright and colorful in appearance, but with a contrasting darker story, involving many of the characters deaths.
Perfect Harmony I is modeled after Mega Man II, and Perfect Harmony II will be modeled after Mega Man III.
Perfect Harmony III will be reminiscent of Mega Man Zero 3, and Perfect Harmony IV will be reminiscent of Mega Man Zero 4.
The main overall theme of the Perfect Harmony series is Life, Death, and Rebirth.
